CIST 2007 Call for Papers

Interdisciplinary Information Systems Research


Knowledge focused digitally enabled enterprises have leveraged information systems to innovate, differentiate and create sustainable competitive advantage. Researchers in the Information Systems arena by adopting a broad interdisciplinary perspective have enabled a deeper understanding of processes, behaviors and strategies of the 21st century enterprise. In doing so, Information Systems research has in a large measure contributed to informed research across multiple disciplines. CIST 2007 is intended to highlight the aforementioned interdisciplinary research by bringing together scholars who have leveraged and informed multiple diverse disciplines to present their ideas in topics such as, but not limited to:

IS and Organizational Behavior

IS and Marketing

  • New IT enabled organizational forms ( e.g., Virtual Teams & Communities)
  • Managing knowledge and enabling organizations learning using advanced IS.
  • Impact of outsourcing decisions on employees

  • Consumer behavior in mobile and digital environments
  • Personalization and Recommendation Systems
  • Marketing implications of web-enabled social networks

IS and Operations Management

IS and Strategy

  • Impact of use of electronic marketplaces, standards  and IOSs on supply-chains

IS and CS / Engineering

  • Privacy and security issues in IS design and implementation
  • New/emerging IS design/software development methodologies

Dates

  •      Submission deadline: June 17, 2007
  •      Notification of acceptance: August 19, 2007
  •      Conference: November 3 and 4, 2007



Submission and Acceptance


All papers will be refereed by two members of the program committee. Awards will be given for ‘best conference paper’, ‘best student-authored paper’ and ‘best reviewer’. All CIST participants are required to register for CIST and the INFORMS Annual Conference. For questions, please contact either of the CIST co-chairs. Submission Guidelines

Submissions are due June 17, 2007. Please email in either .DOC, .RTF, or .PDF format to cist2007@business.uconn.edu. Submissions can also be emailed to either of the co-chairs.


Papers should follow the guidelines specified below:

  • Papers should be a maximum of 15 pages (excluding tables and figures), printable on 8.5 x 11-inch paper
  • Use a 12-point font with one-inch margins on four sides
  • Double-space throughout the paper
  • Include an abstract that explains as simply as possible the focus and contributions of the paper
  • Indicate on the front cover whether the paper is student-authored (the lead author is a student or the lead author indicates in writing that the bulk of the work was done by a student)
